Guinea breed
Guinea fowl
Loud, half-wild and very good at eating ticks and insects. Keets are delicate for their first weeks and need heat for longer than chicks; adults roost high and range widely. Pearl, lavender, white and royal purple differ only in colour. French guineas are a larger meat strain.
Hatch Index lists 8 varieties of Guinea fowl from 6 hatcheries, and 7 are in stock today. Straight run starts at $7.26 (French Pearl, Townline Hatchery).
