How we source hatchery data
Everything here is read from the same public product catalogue each shop already serves to its own storefront. If you run a hatchery and would rather not be listed, that is a complete answer and nothing else is needed from you — details at the bottom of this page.
What we read, and how
Two documented, unauthenticated endpoints: the WooCommerce Store API and Shopify's
products.json. Both are the same feeds a shop's own website uses to draw its product
pages. Nothing is scraped out of a page layout, no account is created, no checkout is touched, and
nothing is written to any hatchery's site.
Each catalogue is read four times a day, not continuously. Where a
hatchery publishes a Crawl-delay in its robots.txt, we wait at least that
long between requests — one of the hatcheries listed here asks for thirty seconds, and gets
it. Any hatchery whose robots.txt asks crawlers away from these endpoints is not read
at all.
What we publish
Facts, and only from the source that states them: breed, sex, price, minimum order, and whether something is in stock. Guarantees, NPIP status, sexing accuracy and shipping terms are shown only where the hatchery's own page states them, and every one carries a link to that page so you can check it. Where a page does not say, this site says it does not say.
Photographs stay on the hatchery's own servers, are credited to them by name, and are never copied here.
Hatcheries we deliberately do not list
Some hatcheries publish terms that prohibit automated reading or republication of their catalogue. We take them at their word: they are not listed, and their catalogues are not read at all — not read and withheld, simply not read. Their absence here is not a judgement about them.

Where permission has been asked for and given, a hatchery moves back onto the index.
If you run a hatchery
Ask and it is done, the same day, with no explanation owed:
- remove your listings entirely
- keep the listings but remove your photographs
- correct anything shown wrongly, including how your name is spelled
- change the wording of a guarantee we have quoted from your page
